Company

Our client, a leading global professional services firm, is seeking an Assistant Manager or Manager in Financial Accounting & Reporting to strengthen their Accounting & Payroll Services team in German-speaking Switzerland. This hybrid role allows flexibility of workplace across Basel, Bern, St. Gallen, Zug/Lucerne, or Zurich (with at least one day per week in Zurich).

The position offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of clients—from innovative startups to large multinational corporations—on challenging accounting, consolidation, and reporting projects. With a workload of 80–100% and start date upon agreement, this role is ideal for professionals who want to combine client advisory work with leadership and team development responsibilities.

Job

- Accounting Oversight: Manage client bookkeeping operations and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Compliance & Reporting: Perform conversions from foreign GAAP to Swiss OR, handle consolidations, VAT returns, reporting, and controlling tasks.

- Project Management: Lead client projects, act as main point of contact, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

- Team Leadership: Supervise and coach team members within client engagements, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

- Process Improvement: Drive efficiency by optimizing processes and workflows, while keeping up to date with the latest accounting standards and best practices.

- Client Relationships: Serve as a trusted advisor to a diverse client base, ensuring satisfaction and long-term partnerships.

Profile

Education & Certifications:

Qualified as an Expert in Accounting & Controlling, Swiss Certified Fiduciary Expert, Certified Public Accountant, or equivalent.

Master’s degree in Finance & Controlling (completed or in progress).

Professional Experience:

- Several years of experience in finance, financial controlling, or fiduciary services.

- Solid expertise in consolidation and statutory accounting; payroll experience is an asset but not required.

- Strong knowledge of Swiss GAAP FER and IFRS; familiarity with US GAAP is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high standard of quality.

- Fluency in German and good command of English.

- Proficiency in financial and IT applications (e.g., Abacus, SAP, MS Business Central, O365).

- Team-oriented mindset, proactive attitude, and ability to thrive in dynamic environments.
